I ran into the urban spoon folks today at Louisa’s, my office away from my office on Eastlake.  I’ve been following urban spoon for a few years and told them a couple times how much I didn’t like the local search space.  The respectfully ignored me and I grew to respect and admire their perseverance and innovative approach to building urban spoon.  I thought about investing about a year and a half ago but they weren’t really raising money and didn’t really need it and so no deal got done.  In retrospect, I wish I had. These guys should be applauded! They’re rocking and rolling. They’re iphone app is the talk of the iphone world and they’re getting over 1 million shakes a day. Very impressive. They’ve given new meaning to life BIA and life AIA — for those of you who don’t know the monogram — BIA is “Before Iphone Apps” and AIA is “After Iphone Apps”.
